Think About Turning Today!
A message from Our Club President
Let me start with a few reminders: We are
still meeting at the Career Center, 3723 Central Ave. in Billings - Parking to
the West - Enter the west door. You do not need to bring a chair.
Try to share some of your shop specialties with someone each month; and the
April 11th meeting is the time we agreed to bring our "egg" creations. Like with
the bowling pins, if you bring them in a plain paper bag, we will vote on the
ones we like best and there will be prizes for the top vote getters.
Hopefully I will have a simple plan made up to hand out for those willing to
make the "Bic" pens to go with the tops we give out at the Fair.
If you have any cool ideas for future meeting programs call Ray Curtis.
Again thank you to those club members who demonstrated their equipment and /or
skills in the past. See you on the 11th.
Stan Lambert Pres.

News from the Art World
by Dan Schindler
I think we are finally getting some acceptance of turned wood in the local arts community. I was successful in getting three pieces of my work accepted into this year's "Rocky Mountain Juried Exhibition" which shows at the carbon county Arts Guild's Depot Gallery during the month of April. The exhibit consists of variety of art work in all media from artists throughout the rocky mountain region. The exhibit opens April 2nd and runs through April 30th. There will be an artist reception held on Friday April 13th from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. If you get a chance to get to Red Lodge during April, be sure to stop by the gallery to visit the exhibit. I especially would like to personally invite you to attend the artist's reception on the13th. If you would like additional information call me at 373-5892 or Carbon County Arts Guild at 446-1370
