 Think About Turning Today!

Merry Christmas, I hope to see you all on the 12th at Ron's shop.
Things coming up. This coming Monday ( Dec. 3 )the crew that signed up to demo at West High for their
Tech Club will meet at Mick's house. This will be to plan the club's first school demonstration for high school students. The "crew" is eight members strong and will be at the school shop from 3:00 - 5:00 on the Dec. 12 ( the same day as our 7:00 meeting ).  Wish us luck!
At this month's meeting we will have election of officers, our normal show and tell, report from our "grant committee", a report on how the West High demo went, a raffle for any donated items of wood, etc (hint, hint), and our program.  The program this month will be the Christmas gifts you have built and your comments and discussion on how they were built (problems solved & problems not solved?).  There will be a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd prize determined by a vote of the the members in attendance.     Remind me to hand out the Hartville Tool catalogs; they were at the last meeting but  I only caught those that stayed late. This is the company that gives us 20% off the first year.
                        Stan Lambert, Pres.

Correspondence:

The club received a letter from the Fair Board informing us that they owed us $15. The check was given to Jane. Also the club received a letter from Rick Orr regarding the symposium and that he would be able to help out again next time.

Old Business

Ray Curtis spoke on the symposium. It was agreed that everyone thought it was a great success. Thank you to all the hard workers that made it such a great success.

A discussion followed on applying for a grant for a symposium for next year. Must be done my Dec. 31, 2007.

The club voted to put $250 into the library fund.

New Business

Ray and Dave will be the committee for the grant process for a symposium for 2008. Thank you !!!

It’s time for dues collection for club membership. It was decided to leave the membership dues the same as last year. Please bring your check book to the next meeting and let’s get them paid.

Ron Musgrave reported on the Boys and Girls Club. Some brainstorming was done on how to make the club grow with younger members.

West High has contacted us about the Tec Club. A motion was made, seconded and passed that we will do a presentation at the club. A show of hands of members willing to go to the Tec club was taken.

It’s that time of year again—to nominate new officers. A committee of Don Buska, Ray Curtis and Joyce Fiechtner was appointed. Don is chairman.

Raffle was held and $29 was raised.

Program

The program was given by Dan S. and Dave. It was a very informative discussion on art critique of turned vessels. Several members offered up their art for critique. Excellent job doing a difficult task. Thank you very much.

Next months meeting is Dec. 12 at Ron’s shop.
