Minutes of May 10, 2006
President Ed Auker opened the meeting at 7:00 PM. There were 29 members present.
President Auker requested Luana Auker take minutes as Secretary Dwaine Beckman was unable to attend tonight’s meeting.
SHOW AND TELL
There were several woodturning items presented tonight.
MINUTES AND TREASURERS REPORT
President Auker asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes as printed in the newsletter. Corrections were noted and then the minutes were accepted as corrected.
Mick Hogg gave the treasurer’s report of funds on hand at the end of April.
CORRESPONDENCE
President Auker received a demo DVD on woodturning; this DVD was placed in the library.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
A&E (Advancement and Education) committee–no report tonight.
OLD BUSINESS
Membership: The members present tonight voted to stop sending copy of meeting minutes to non-paying members and to remove individuals who have not paid membership dues from the membership list. Treasurer Mick Hogg reported presently 35 members have paid the dues.
Open Shop: Ron Musgrave reported the Open Shop went well and was held both Sat and Sun; there were 6 to 8 people at each open shop session.
Stick work workshop: Don Buska stated it went well, about 6 people were at the workshop.
Library Order: Marge Ferrin has added the following to the library: "All Screw Up" (book) and "Off center turning" (video).
Jail House Art Gallery, Club Show in June: Bring items by 6-1-06; need to fill out cards with information for each piece; list with total number of pieces, description, price, name for booking purposes; bring materials, etc for display (will be exposed to sun); also a bio on 6"X8" card; take things to Dave Torrence’s before 6-1=06 (2019 10th Abe N); A&E committee to meet at Dave’s 6-1-06 at 9:00 AM to pack things up and go to Hardin to set up; anyone who wants to help should be at the Jail House Gallery by 11:00 AM
NEW BUSINESSRandy reported he can get internet site for $20.00 per year instead of $20.00 per month. Members present voted to have Randy switch to the cheaper web site.
John discussed various issues with the Montana Fair book- These may be type errors but need to be addressed with the Fair committee to make a correction page and distribute to people submitting woodturning items to the Fair. Dan Schindler and Red O’onnell will contact Deloris concerning these issues.
