COMMITTEE REPORTS
The A&E committee said they need a head count for the January 20th symposium at the November meeting so they can give the caterers some idea how many to prepare for and this count could be adjusted at the December meeting. They want the checks covering the symposium at the December meeting. The cost has been firmed up at $25.00 and this covers the lunch, which will be at Ron’s shop and any money left over after paying for the lunch (which will be catered) will go into the raffle fund.
They will have coffee and cookies available through out the sessions..

OLD BUSINESS
Ed Auker said that the Jail House Gallery was happy to have some of our members displaying their turnings and had sent some checks covering the items they had sold.
At the November meeting those of you who had received bowling pins please bring in the items you turned from these pins and it sounds like you are to bring them to the meeting, concealed in a paper bag and there will be numbers assigned to each one and they will be judged by the members for the most unique item turned.
Saturday Oct 14th the Club will demonstrate wood turning at the Billings Hardware tool sale. The turning will be done inside the store in the area where we hold our meetings. VP Hoffman passed out assignment times for those who had already signed up to work this tool sale. Bring your own wood for this turning.
NEW BUSINESS
President Auker asked for volunteers for nominating committee to choose officers for next year there were none so it will be handled at the November meeting.
The business meeting was closed and coffee and cookies compliments of the Billings Hardware, was enjoyed by all.
DEMONSTRATION
John Wasden was to head up the demonstration tonight but he had called Martin Robinson and said that because of the predicted stormy weather in northern Wyoming. He thought it would be a bad idea for him to be driving home late at night in a snow storm so the demonstration was put on by Stan Lambert, Martin Robinson and Red O’Connell.
This demonstration was on sanding and they used as a guide, information from a sanding seminar put on by Bruce Hoovar at Loveland, Colorado that Stan and Martin had been to.
These three members put of a very informative program and some of the highlights were.
1-Have a bright light that will cast shadows to show areas that need to be sanded more.
2-Power and Inertia Sanders
3 -Areas to hold your power or inertia sanders.
4-RPM of bowl and sanders
5-Wet sanding
6-Moving up through various grits
7-various types of power sanders.
8-solutions to problems
