Think About Turning Today!

THINK ABOUT TURNING TODAY!

As our weather holds it is hard to be inside turning; but there are lots of outdoor activities concerning our woodturning that can be completed, i.e. stocking up on our wood supply, chain sawing those logs into bowl blanks, working on building a new shop (?) Yes the weather is cooperating, but it still is slow going. A big "thank you" to Dan Vanderhoof and Gary Slanina for a day's help on my shop in Oct. We were able to finish sheeting the roof with OSB. Since then I have covered the roof with titanium; and am finally dry inside. Also put in an inside "end wall" with a door to keep the wind from whooping though. At our up coming meeting on the 11th: We have new AAW forms available to join the Nal't organization if you do not already belong, we plan on our usual business meeting, a demo for a program, and the raffle should be super with 3 gift Cert. from Craft Supply, knives from Ed L. and a supply of wood and other possible items that tend to show up. Last month's great demos by Floyd Creekmore, Duane Beckman, and Dan Vanderhoof are an example of the participation that make a technology club like ours both enjoyable and helpful. Hopefully we will present some ground rules for a annual Christmas decoration contest to be held at our December meeting. Hope to see you at the meeting, Stan Lambert, Pres.
