Think About Turning Today!

Whats up for our December meeting?
Great Fun and Excitement! or at least a good time with members sharing some common interests.
We will discuss, show, and work on some Christmas projects. So bring your items and ideas. Remember its a contest that we will vote on whose we like. Top votes get Craft Supplies gift certificates for prizes.
I will have a large supply of pen blanks for sale, courtesy of a turning club in northern Florida. I ordered Black Cherry and Pecan; and they are a lot cheaper than any mail order source.
Other items on the agenda will be discussion of the fine arts exhibiting at Fair time, election of officers for 2009, and classes at West High.  Also the the DVD's we ordered from the 2008 AAW National Symposium showed up in my mail this week. Two are on techniques and one covers the Instant Gallery and some critique of the entries.
   See you at Ron's Shop,
    Stan Lambert, Pres.

Show and Tell

Several items were brought in for show and tell:

Ray Curtis brought in an ice cream scoop.

Paul brought ice cream scoops and a hook tool he made.

George brought a carved picture of Peg’s mother mounted in a case.

Dewaine Beckman—brought the goblet that won’t hold wine! But it does hold a conversation.

Don Buska showed us his new thumb top—vase in a stand.

Donut sculpture----art at it’s best! Don also made a vase that defies all logic—until he tells his secrets.

Stan fine tuned the 3 bowls from one blank. Stan also brought a diagonal bowl and a ring holder he had made.

It was an extra nice show and tell, be sure to look at the pictures on the web sight.
